Apart from this the government has concentrated its attention on the promotion and setting up agro-based industries in the province. The step was being taken for creating large-scale employment opportunities for the skilled and semi-skilled persons taken and for brining verity of local made agricultural implements in the market.
This move of the government would provide modern agricultural tools to the growers on inexpensive rates and enable the growers to opt modern agricultural techniques for better output of the crops.
Under the programme government will extend full assistance and co-operation as well as provide loan facilities for dairy development in the Punjab. The main focus of the present regime was to promote small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) as they are playing and instrumental role in strengthening the national economy. Sources said that government has established a revolving fund of Rs 2 billion for fulfilling the needs and demands of SMEs regarding up-gradation and modernisation of their industrial units sources added.
